2007 Mini Rex Nationals
Eleni and I drove to Indiana for nationals. Christine and Amanda Byron rode with us. We had a great trip although after 30 plus hours on the road each way we were ready to be home.
Our first day of travel ended in Idaho about 3 hours ahead of our plan. We hit a snow storm that was icing the road and making visibility very poor. We ended up in a motel that told us that as long as our pets were under 25 lbs we could take them in the room. Was better than feeding and watering in the blowing snow!!
The next day we drove on icy roads for a few hours and finally found clear pavement in Utah. The roads in Wyoming were long and straight. We had a laugh with this sign at a rest stop. Not sure about that food sleeping thing.
Eleni was having a great time with the rest stops. She thought the view was a bit empty.
Marti and I won Otter Sweeps for the year
Eleni won BOV Lilac with her buck Buffet. I am holding Marti's awards for BOV and BOSV Chinchilla. We were'nt planning on heading to nationals this year until about February when Marti kept commenting on her chins. She was right!
Eleni kind of likes her bunnies
This would be Kiwi. Well this rabbit was 3rd place jr buck on Sat. She was disqualified on Sunday for being a doe in a buck class. At least we were'nt the only ones fooled.
Traveling with this many rabbits is work. We had plenty of comments from other travelers at our morning and evening feedings in motel parking lots.
We did make a stop at Cabelas in Nebraska. We don't have any near Oregon so it was fun. We were able to introduce Crystine and Amanda to new places to spend money.
It got a little dicey on the way home. We had tornado warnings to motivate us to press on. Fortunately we made it with out any trouble.
Ok so I have to admit that I did not know that anyone could sleep this much but Amanda can.
